Is it essential to convert the whole farm to organic production?

No, it is possible to convert part of a holding, but the organic unit should be a separate, discrete block of land.
In addition: a) separately coded invoices and sales need to be kept for the organic and conventional units; b) it is not permitted to produce the same variety of crop, or the same species of animal, on both the organic and conventional unit.
