What is the minimum time between the last application of a prohibited substance and the first organic crop?

24 months must have passed between the last application of a prohibited product and the establishment of the first full organic status arable crop, or, for grassland, the first full organic status grazing or conservation cut.

For perennial crops a conversion period of 36 months from the last use of any prohibited products must be observed. This means that there must be 24 months of monitored conversion.

The conversion period is seen as starting on the day on which the organic certification body receives your application. It is, in effect, 24 months of monitored conversion.
