Training Courses
SAC provides a wide range of training on financial, technical and health and safety issues.
The courses listed below are just a sample of what is available and they can be accessed locally through your local Farm & Rural Business Services office. If you have claimed a training grant in your application to the Land Managers' Options (LMO), you may wish to consider the courses offered by SAC. (The 10 courses below are all eligible for a discount with your LMO grant).
- Business Management Training (4 x ½ days): Approx Cost: £320 With 75% LMO Grant = £80
- Developing Opportunities for Farm Diversification (1 day): Approx Cost: £160 With 75% LMO Grant = £40
- Introduction to Computers on the Farm (1 day): Approx Cost: £120 With 75% LMO Grant = £30
- Introduction to Ruminant Feeding and Nutrition (1 day): Approx Cost: £120 With 75% LMO Grant £30
- Intro to Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Databases (2 days): Approx Cost: £280 With 75% LMO Grant £70
- Using Farm Accounts to Improve Business Profitability (3 x ½ days): Approx Cost: £200 With 75% LMO Grant £50
- Efficient Fertiliser Use (½ day): Approx Cost: £80 With 75% LMO Grant £20
- Sage Line 50 Accounts for Farmers (2 days): Approx Cost: £240 With 75% LMO Grant £60
- Mastitis Control for Dairy Farmers (1 day): Approx Cost: £120 With 75% LMO Grant £30
- Sheep Identification Rules and Sheep Movement Records (½ day): Approx Cost: £80 With 75% LMO Grant £20
