Agriculture is operating in a constantly changing business environment with market and legislative forces never constant or entirely predictable. 

SAC has extensive experience in assessing the widespread impacts of change on the industry, particularly from policy changes.   

SAC has undertaken a number of studies assessing the socio-economic regional and farm level impacts of CAP Reform, Foot and Mouth Disease, BSE and Land Reform.  Farm and Rural Business Specialists work closely with SAC’s research economists to undertake: 

• Modelling farm businesses for policy analysis
• Assessment of infrastructural needs of agriculture
• Regional structural and economic impacts of policy change on agriculture
