Buglossoides arvensis

General

B arvensis is a further plant containing stearidonic acid.  In nature, this species is widely distributed in northern climates and it is being developed as a crop.
Buglossoides is of interest as it has been shown to produce higher seed yields than Echium, and this feature, combined with slightly higher stearidonic acid levels in the oil, have resulted in more than a doubling of stearidonic acid yield per hectare in trial work

Please remember that special consideration must be given to the VAT aspects of diversification as the new activity may not be treated the same as the existing farm business from a VAT standpoint.
