Check wheat seed for diseases

Check home saved wheat for diseases.

Seed should be tested for germination plus some common seed borne diseases.

Seedling blight (Microdochium nivale) can cause poor emergence in late sown crops.  Bunt (Tilletia caries) will remain unnoticed until the crop reaches grain fill next July.
