Protect crops from Ramularia at boot stage

Options for fungicides at boot stage

Ramularia and abiotic leaf spots can cause extensive losses in yield and quality in spring barley.

Losses from Ramularia, abiotic leaf spots and early loss in green leaf area  can be as high as 0.6 tonnes per hectare. For malting crops, there is an added problem in an increase in screenings (percentage of graions smaller than 2.5 mm).

SAC has assessed varieties for their susceptibility to leaf spots. Values in the table range from 1-9. A higher number represents better resistance or better green leaf area.

Variety

Ramularia leaf spots

Abiotic leaf spots
