Featured Climate Change Projects
SAC's research encompasses many projects containing climate change elements.
Some are featured below.
Role Of Genetics In Dairy System Methane Emissions
Current drivers suggest that environmental impact and system wide efficiency will be a major policy and research priority such as Defra Policy Rationale IS02 (To develop new approaches to agricultural systems which are inherently more environmentally and economically sustainable) and Programme 2 of the ABRG Research Requirements ( … deliver high quality primary food products derived from animals … produced in systems that … are environmentally benign).
NitroEurope
NitroEurope is a large European Integrated Project that aims to improve our understanding of the contribution that nitrogen makes to the net greenhouse gas budgets of Europe.
Carbon Footprint Reporting For Scottish Livestock Farming
The aim of this project is to better understand the impact livestock farming in Scotland has on the environment through its carbon footprint, and to report baseline data which can be then used to evaluate the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through changes in management practices.
Climate Change Impacts On The Livestock Sector
This project aims to predict the impact of climate change on the UK livestock industry and to assess the measures needed to adapt to a changing climate.
