Mr Donald Biggar, OBE, Vice Chairman
Joined the Board in 2006 and became Vice Chairman in 2007
Mr Donald Biggar, OBE, FrAgS is a partner and manager of the family beef and sheep farming business in South West Scotland. He is a former Chairman of Quality Meat Scotland. He is also a Director of WCF Ltd and a former Governor of Merchiston Castle School.
He has been a trustee of the Royal Smithfield Club for many years and has served both as Chairman of the Club and as Chairman of the Smithfield Show Board of Management. Mr Biggar has also served as a Director of the Moredun Foundation, President of the Hereford Society and President of the Beef Shorthorn Society.
During the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak in 2001, when he lost all of his own stock, Donald Biggar was appointed to chair the farm business support group, set up by SEERAD and NFU Scotland, to support farmers in Dumfries and Galloway who had lost their stock.
